ABSTRACT
The article presents guidelines for regional curriculum planning in the United States. According to the author, regional curriculum planning must be service oriented and must be developed by those who will use the plans. In connection with the latter, the author has reiterated that it is the classroom teacher who will be the most appropriate person to develop or be consulted in the process of developing a curriculum design. The author also warns that regional curriculum planning should be realistic and must be responsive to change.
