ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the contribution of immigrants towards the success of Silicon Valley, California. There was a decline in the employment in Silicon Valley due to the dot com bust in 2000. Since then Silicon Valley, made up 1% of the population of the U.S., filed 11% of the patents and absorbed over 25% of all the venture capital invested in the U.S. Immigrants make up 38% of the denizens of Silicon Valley. They account for 53% of the engineers and scientists working in the valley. There would be no Silicon Valley if there is no immigration.
