ABSTRACT
Nitrogen containing compounds of vetiver oil, Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash, have been investigated and 33 components identified by capillary GC and GC/MS. These include substituted pyridines, pyrazines and indolines; only four of which have previously been reported as occurring in vetiver oil. Two compounds, tentatively identified, are believed to be previously unreported as natural, namely, isomers of trimethylindoline and isocyanato-methylbenzene.
