ABSTRACT
The article discusses various issues concerning sex education for the mentally retarded. An examination of content and teaching methods is warranted if family life education is to be effectively incorporated into the curriculum. The purpose of sex education is to give human beings a chance to understand themselves and their interactions with others. Sex education program should not be designed to convert a group to a new social order but rather to prepare the student to acclimate himself to a larger society and to the realities of life beyond their school years. The school's role in family life education is not to correct the student's morals but rather increase his knowledge of interpersonal relationships and the outcomes of his actions.
