ABSTRACT
This article reflects on Ariel Sharon's impact as Prime Minister of Israel. The author characterizes Sharon as a larger-than-life purveyor of bravado who failed to ensure the security and acceptance of Israel in the Middle East. The author also criticizes Sharon's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip because it has thus far failed to renew peace talks with Palestinians.
