The article presents information about the online service VERONICA and other new gopher Web sites on the Internet. VERONICA is a very easy rodent-oriented net-wide index of computerized archives. According to the UNR server, the veronica index contains about 10 million items from approximately 5500 gopher servers. Veronica harvests or indexes the gopher servers on the Internet every two weeks, though this can vary. Veronica searches the WORDS in TITLES, not a full-text search of actual contents on the Internet. The TITLES are the titles as added to the gopher server by someone, perhaps a gopher builder, meister, administrator. In this case, title is the title as it was listed on its HOME gopher. One of the options one can use is -t, which searches for whatever TYPES of gopher resources one specifies. The -t flag is a great tool for looking just for certain types of gopher resources, say binary files. The -l option returns a file that will be displayed as the first item on the veronica results menu.
