ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the research paper "Glutamatergic Drugs for Schizophrenia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis," published in the 2005 issue of the journal Schizophrenia Research. The paper presents a systematic review with meta-analysis on eligible studies which were double blind randomized controlled trials of drugs in people with schizophrenia, with a trial duration of more than two weeks. Results suggest that glycine and D-serine improve negative symptoms, but not cognitive deficiencies or global response in people with schizophrenia in the short term.
