ABSTRACT
Looks Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's approach to the political and territorial disputes within the Arab-Israeli conflict. View that Sharon is a master of maneuvers and that while the global media is reporting on the demise of the Gaza settlements, he is presiding over the creation and expansion of settlements in more strategically important areas where few are watching; Suggestion that Sharon made a deal with U.S. President George Bush that Israel would withdraw from Gaza in return for a formal acceptance by the United States that parts of the occupied West Bank which have been settled by Jews would eventually become part of Israel.
