ABSTRACT
This article presents photographs of the Korean Demilitarized Zone. The demilitarized zone lies between North and South Korea. The origins of the division of the Korean peninsula lie in the end of the second world war and the subsequent Korean war, when the United Nations sent troops to repel an invasion of the South from the North. Hostilities were suspended in 1953, since then, both sides have been separated by the zone that extends almost 250 kilometers across the peninsula and 2000 meters either side of a demarcation line.
