ABSTRACT
The article reports one the "Salute to Israel" parade in New York City that was held on June 6, 2005. In view of the litany of human rights violations committed by Israel, the author has a personal view that Israel should not be "saluted" but rather protested energetically, and so found the appropriate counter-demonstration and went to participate. The counter-demonstration was sponsored by the Palestine Activist Forum (PAFNY), but supported as well by Jews Against the Occupation (JATO-NYC), Network of Arab-American Professionals (NAAPNY), No Pride in the Occupation, Al-Awda Palestine Right to Return Coalition, and others.
