ABSTRACT
The article discusses the objectives of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists and focuses on difficulties faced by founding members of the association. According to the author, the association's vision of the importance of healthy sexuality for human happiness is now stronger than ever. The author believes that people can recognize that healthy sexuality is not a matter of who they choose as their partners, how many partners they choose, or who does what, or with which parts of the body. Rather, it is a matter of how people express themselves sexually, and whether they do so responsibly, honestly, mutually and with concern for whomever their conduct affects.
