ABSTRACT
This article discusses issues related to direct marketing industry in Ireland. For many years, Ireland's direct marketing industry has invested considerable time and money in lobbying the Irish government to introduce postcodes. Postcodes are pivotal to the development of data-driven marketing in Ireland, both for address-matching and data segmentation purposes, and we're looking forward to rapid growth as a result of getting the green light from the government. Judging from the buzz the recent news has created in the industry, the next few years promise to open an exciting new chapter in Irish direct marketing.
