ABSTRACT
The article focuses on some books and reports related to medical care. "Medicare: Advisory Opinions As a Means of Clarifying Program Requirements, a December 8, 2004 report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), reports on the feasibility of establishing a legally binding advisory opinion process for Medicare. "Flu Vaccine: Recent Supply Shortages Underscore Ongoing Challenges," a November 18, 2004 testimony by the GAO to the Energy and Commerce Subcommittees on Health and on Oversight and Investigations, says that the process for manufacturing and distributing the flu vaccine for the U.S. market makes the United States vulnerable to shortages if any part of the system fails.
