ABSTRACT
This article reports that a qualification for people responsible for implementing the Freedom of Information Act in their organisation has been launched by the BCS Information Systems Examinations Board. The certificate in freedom of information is aimed both at people experienced in the issues and at newcomers. As well as explaining the act in its wider context, the BCS said the course covers the mechanism for publishing before a request for information, exemptions to access, the public interest test and enforcement procedures.
