ABSTRACT
This article focuses on a meeting of the Speech Communication Association (SCA) Committee on Committees in Chicago, Illinois on November 12, 1986 to select persons to recommend that the Legislative Council appoint to Association Boards and Committees. SCA members can help the committee by encouraging able people to step forward to Association leadership or volunteering themselves for the positions. A complete nomination must include a letter of nomination stating the candidate's qualifications for the position, a letter from the nominee accepting the nomination, and a vita highlighting the nominee's professional qualifications for the post. Complete nominations should be postmarked by September 15. The Committee on Committees is asked to nominate two persons for three-year terms on the Legislative Council who will recognize emerging interests and critical problems and help the Council achieve a balanced representation of teaching levels, ethnic and minority group interests, sex, age, and academic status. One member of the Educational Policies Board should be nominated. This body encourages, endorses, or engages in projects related to the improvement of instruction in communication.
