Constitutional Amendments Proposed

This article reports that the 1972 Legislative Council in Chicago, Illinois has approved two amendments to the Speech Communication Association Constitution. The approved amendments will be presented for ratification via a mail ballot to the full membership. In Article VII, Section of the constitution, delete and at the end of Line 1 and insert in its place, vice-chairman-elect and. These amendments create the position of division vice-chairman-elect and describe the duties of the office. Section 4, the vice-chairman-elect shall, in consultation with appropriate division and association officers, engage in preliminary annual meeting program planning a year in advance. In Article VI, Section 2, Line 10 of the constitution delete immediate past chairman. These amendments provide for membership on the Legislative Council for the immediate past chairman of each division in place of the vice-chairman.
