ABSTRACT
This article reports on the meetings held by the Speech Communication Association (SCA) Administrative Committee at the National Office in New York City from October 23 to 25, 1972. The Committee voted to recommend to the Legislative Council for endorsement a revised version of the Association Credo on freedom of speech, accepted Publications Board recommendations; called for renewed efforts to persuade the U.S. Council on Education to include speech communication in its ratings of graduate programs, moved to eliminate the requirement that members signatures and addresses appear on ballot envelopes, reviewed proposed procedures for encouraging and processing Association resolutions, appointed Lloyd Bitzer as director of a 1973 Summer Conference on communication and the future of man; approved a position description and authorized an immediate search for an SCA Associate Secretary for Education, took steps to apply for affiliation with the Associated Organizations for Teacher Education, acted favorably on the suggestion that the next SCA Directory include listings for all regional association members, and made further plans for reporting and implementing recommendations stemming from the Airlie House long-range goals conference.
