ABSTRACT
This article reports that the 1997 Speech Communication Association (SCA) Nominating Committee solicits from any member of the association names of possible nominees for SCA second vice president and member at-large of the SCA Legislative Council. The second vice president will assume office following the 1998 convention in New York, will be a member of the SCA Administrative Committee, and will be responsible for SCA's membership program. Following the 1999 convention, the person elected moves to the office of SCA First Vice President and is responsible for planning the 2000 SCA Convention. The person becomes SCA President following the 2000 Convention. Members-at-large of the SCA Legislative Council serve three-year terms beginning in 1999. At least six members are nominated each year. Any member of SCA may submit names for consideration by the 1997 Nominating Committee. Information must be postmarked not later than May 1, 1997.
