ABSTRACT
This article reports the Eighteenth Annual Meeting of the Southern Sociological Society which was held at Hotel Hermitage, Nashville, Tennessee, during March 31-April 2, 1955. Some of the presiding officers for section meetings were: William L. Koib, for meeting discussing theories; Meyer F. Nimkoff, for methodology; Hylari Lewis, for discussing the community; and Emilio Willems, for meeting discussing cultural anthropology. A memorial tribute to Howard W. Odum was presented by H.C. Brearley, who had been Odum's first candidate for the doctorate at the University of North Carolina. It reports about newly elected members of the Society for 1955-56. Irwin T. Sanders of the University of Kentucky has been elected as the new president; whereas, Mozell C. Hill of the Atlanta University, as the vice-president.
