ABSTRACT
The dependence of the erbium-doped optical amplifier gain upon the fiber length, output signal, and pump power have been theoretically investigated for two pumping wavelengths of 0.98 and 1.48 µm. The analytical results are in fairly good agreement with the reported measured data.
