ABSTRACT
People repaint, repaper, or repanel their rooms but keep the old plastic switch plates and outlet covers, which are low-key eyesores. The look of a room can be improved by replacing them. There are many on-line sources that offer switch plates and outlet covers in all sorts of configurations. Switch plates can be painted so they disappear into the wall. Paneled walls are tough to match. But even when the grain is different, a switch plate in the same wood as the walls will make your room look more pulled-together.
