ABSTRACT
The article presents a live coverage of the U.S. military action in Iraq during the 2003 war. In Samarra, a hotbed of insurgency in the Sunni Triangle, the U.S. army has been taking control of the situation which is badly affected by "bloodline" attacks. Lt. Ben Tomlinson's platoon headed into the chill, hugging the walls of the winding ancient city to avoid roof and "keyhole" shots from snipers, listening for the "donk" of a rocket-propelled grenade. In the operation, two suspects have been caught, while others seem to have fled, perhaps alerted by the dogs.
