ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the reminder made by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the states and the tax industry for taxpayers to protect themselves online and to help fight against identity theft. It discusses some of the best practices that need to follow by taxpayers to protect their tax and financial information which include understanding and using security software, allowing security software to update automatically, and using passwords.
