This article approaches the creation and the evolution of the organization that will turn into the great one sacrificed of the Spanish transition: Union of Democratic Center. Nourished of good part of the administrative elites formed in the tardofranquismo, the Galician UCD turns into one more prolongation one State that has the will to advance towards a democratic system, which could be authorized by the European context. The singularities of the administration of the Pro-Franco Dictatorship, his ideological values, a political culture assumed of priority pragmatism in the management, and the difficulty of harmonizing the local Galician interests, determined to a great extent that the political organization that piloted the institutional change in Galicia was deriving towards a certain model of democracy, much more directed and controllable. Also towards a certain system of parties.
