ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the reconstruction of the PSOE in Western Andalusia and the relevance that his core had in Seville at that the same time. It explains the results achieved in the elections of 1977 by the combination of two seemingly contradictory factors such as the historical memory and the renewal of the ruling staff of the party. It also values the role that the PSOE of Andalusia play in the struggle for autonomy with Rafael Escuredo as indisputable figure, and the prominence that Andalusian socialism has at the extraordinary Congress in 1979. Finally, describes the relevant electoral victory of the party in the first regional elections of 1982, announcing the political change that followed in the rest of Spain.
