ABSTRACT
A Marine Corps public affairs officer and his media embeds ride the "clown cart" to help tell the story of the war in Iraq. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit had been deployed for seven months and was on board ships of the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group, preparing to head home, when the ground war in Iraq began. Granted, the media effort was an important aspect of Operation Iraqi Freedom of the U.S., but that truck could have provided additional support to companies in the field.
