ABSTRACT
The article discusses historical memory in relation to U.S. Supreme Court (USSC) Justice Stephen Breyer's dissenting opinion in the case Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School District No. 1 which deals with American constitutional law, racial integration (RI) , and the question of whether it is permissible for a school district to use race as a basis for assigning public school students to schools. The RI-based USSC case Brown v. Board of Education is also examined.
