ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has planned to adopt an Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) for large commercial and public buildings. It is hoped that the ECBC can help reduce energy consumption, increase electricity reliability, and enable consumers to save money. The state also hopes that adopting the code in Andhra Pradesh could save the amount of energy needed to power 8.9 million Indian households annually through 2030.
