ABSTRACT
The article discusses the challenges and regulatory frameworks that impedes the full implementation of microgrids in electric utilities. Discussion of the different features of microgrids and its important role played in enhancing electricity delivery system is provided. However, the factors that hinder the implementation of microgrids in electric utilities and ideas on how to overcome such challenges are offered.
