ABSTRACT
The article presents a study on the use of photo-sharing social media network Instagram as a potential resource for journalists, especially in light of the trends in mobile communication. It explores the advantages of Instagram in journalism, including the ease of its of use, visual appeal, and low cost of adoption. The study also identifies aspects of particular interest related to social capital and the contribution of the use of news organizations of Instagram to community engagement.
