ABSTRACT
Examines the influence of historian Benny Morris, author of the 1987 book "The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem, 1947-1949," which rapidly established itself as a definitive account of one of the central issues in the entire Arab-Israeli conflict, the flight and dispersion of Palestinian Arabs at the end of the British Mandate and during the two years of Israel's war of independence. Reason for the headlong embrace by so many educated Israelis of the Oslo peace process and the readiness to see in it the long-sought solution to the problem of Arab intransigence; Information on the book; Issue which drove Morris to acknowledge truths about the Arab-Israel conflict.
