March 1993
Sociology of Religion;Spring93, Vol. 54 Issue 1, p126
Academic Journal
The article presents information on the endnote published in the March 1, 1993 issue of the journal "Sociology of Religion." There have been special efforts to keep the book reviews as current as possible by trying to avoid the backlog of completed reviews awaiting publication. There are attempts to have fewer books in the pipeline and to keep the reviews of them moving. To streamline the publication of reviews there are attempts to avoid the accumulation of reviews on a specific topic that inevitably delays publication of some of them. Although each issue of the journal contains a descriptive title for the book reviews in it, this is primarily the result of an inductive process by the editors rather than a highly managed system of thematic selection and scheduling. This issue has three book reviews, which are in accordance with the topics of the issue. It should also be noted for this issue that there are relatively few books of a sociological, or even social science, nature about gender and religion that have come to attention in recent months.
