ABSTRACT
The article focuses on an academic paper which reviews the long standing practice among institutional investors of hiring investment consultants or advisers to drive asset manager decisions. Topics discussed include the lack of evidence that the net increase in the number of recommendations predicts superior performance, and a very little evidence indicating that investment consultants are guaranteed to improve performance for institutional investors.
