ABSTRACT
The author recalls a government hearing a year or so ago in which a physician illustrated the problem with the health care system in the United States. Unless the nation's health care system is thoroughly overhauled, the double-digit health-insurance rate increases will not decrease, a panel of health care and business experts said recently during a roundtable. A national health-insurance program alone would not work because it would be built on the idea of providing more care through a system that is already inefficient and ineffective. While government leaders likely will play a large role in changing to the nation's health care system, it will take a push from business leaders to make it happen. INSET: HEALTH CARE POWER BREAKFAST.
