Recently, there are many trends to develop the technology of PEs due to it is important. PEs aims to convert the form of power using the converter device. Moreover, this technology has been introduced into many applications like the applications of high-frequency and high-power. Also, it has been introduced to the applications of renewable energy in order to enhance the performance of these applications. In this paper, the technology of PEs has been studied from many sides. The historical evolution, current developments, future developments, concepts of technology and PEs and examples about the main currently techniques that presented in PEs have been discussed and shown in this paper. This paper aims to study PEs to show how this technology is progressing and how it can be enhanced more and more.
