ABSTRACT
The aim of this article is to study the social and political mobilizations that took place in the Galician rural world during the last years of Francoism and the transition period from dictatorship to democracy. Starting from the analysis of different kinds of social conflict that we have identified in rural areas (environmental; caused by the agriculture's industrialization crisis and finally, «mixed conflicts») we study the sinergies between the rural communities leading the conflicts and the agrarian democratic unions that took part in those conflicts (first clandestine but then as legal organizations). Our paper would also describe three of the most important agrarian trade unions that were active in rural Galicia at that time: Comisións Labregas and Sindicato Agrario Galego, linked to the political structure of Galician nationalism and Comisións Campesiñas, promoted by the Galician Communist Party.
